Soča rafting journey starts at Boka waterfall and ends in the village of Trnovo ob Soči. The river course is 8 kilometers long. At the meeting point in Bovec you will get all the necessary equipment for the Soča rafting tour.
Then we will drive three kilometers to Žaga village. A little further down the road you will soon see a mighty Boka waterfall. From here on, the rafting on Soča begins and continues along the river all the way to Trnovo ob Soči, a village between Bovec and Kobarid. We will already be expecting a van on the finish line to take us back to the meeting point in Bovec.
The tour begins on the calmer part of the river, when while paddling on the crystal clear water you might see the famous marble trout. In this part of the Soča rafting tour we will be accompanied by wonderful views of the mighty Alpine mountains such as Mt.Triglav, Krn and Kanin. But when the Učje River starts to pour additional water mass into the Soča River, the more exciting part of the Soča rafting tour begins. At this point, we will leave the emerald green pools behind and hit the beat of the fast rapids and rocks. The rafting guide will help you with rowing and alerting you to the traps.
According to the difficulty scale from one to six, this Soča rafting tour is between two and four, which means it falls between easy and intermediate difficulty levels. This range is made since the river descendent is divided into two parts. The first part of the river is calmer. Here you will learn how to paddle correctly to be ready for the second part of the river, where you will embark on more challenging rapids and where you will be able to use the knowledge that you have gained in the first part. At all times you will be accompanied by experienced guides, so your security is guaranteed.
The best time for rafting in Bovec is from April to the first half of October. In the winter months, there is no rafting in Bovec available, since the outdoor temperatures are too low. Generally, rafting on the Soča River is more abundant with adrenaline in the spring and autumn, when the river has higher water levels. In case the water levels are too high, this tour adapts to these conditions. At high water levels, the Soča rafting trip is shorter, as we descend only after the first part of the river, where there are not many rapids.
